AAfter the end of World War II, the world was split into two -- East and West. This marked the beginning of the era called the Cold War The Cold War was a war based on ideologies. The United States of America representing freedom and democracy and Russia representing order and socialism. These separated ideals is what started the deadliest competition in history, where both sides gathered intelligence on how other side was progressing and used that information as leverage against the other, this is known as Espionage.
